Welcome, aspiring polyglot! Being able to express yourself in a way you deem acceptable is important when you are getting started in a new language. However, it is important to keep in mind, how you speak now is not how you will speak forever. Your starting point is not your ending point, unless you give up. That is why speaking early and often is always worthwhile, irrespective of whether or not you sound like a toddler.

Components to surpassing B2
In order to advance in any language you are going to have to expand your vocabulary pool. This is where a good language learner can really stand out and advance their language skills quickly. However, it requires a good amount of pattern recognition.
