A real life example from my English as a Second Language Classes

Welcome, aspiring polyglot! In one of my recent ESL classes we worked through an exercise that I discuss often around here, role playing. At first my student was a little skeptical, but that changed shortly after we began. He is planning to move to the USA for work and he currently works as a software engineer.

Knowing this, my plan was to walk him through a mock interview. While he knew he would have to do some interviews in order to secure a job state side, he had not really considered how the interviews themselves might play out. In a short time he realized just how beneficial this strategy can be.
